Cool. So, i have a question about PCI rework. As i know, almost all of Voodoo 5 6000 cards hangs when you play at 8xAA for a long time, that is why you need to make PCI rework. But on my card i didnt find any signs of rework. Tell me more about it.

Not ALL 6ks need PCI HANK's REWORK. This rework is only applicable A3 and A revisions when FSAA is enabled and card lock up.

If you run your 6k 8xFSAA during 2 or 3 minutes and it does not lock up then mean you are lucky since you own a rare V5-6000 stable with not Hank's Rework.

If you post some pics from your 6k backside I will be to able to tell you if your card has or not the rework.

White, your V5-6000 is stable 8xFSAA because your card already has installed the HANK's REWORK. :)

I knew that card was prepared for 8xAA, but i wastn't shure how it was :)

White, rework is located here in R540, R589, R717, R714 (adding 4.7K ohms) and R734, R743, R735 and R745 (adding 0 ohms resistor value)..

Now i am thinking about 183 MHz stability for Vooodoo 5 6K. I will test Voodoo 5 5500 for the begining, and then will try OC -> Test -> Flash higher clock if test will pass.

Years ago I did some nice O/C BENCHMARK with different V5-6000 3700 A.

QUAKE 3 ARENA TIMEDEMO 1
Max O/C possible stable with NO extra cooler.

Here at same speed settings @185MHz each card perform different.

For if any person interested how works the new adapter design AGP3.3 DUAL.

The low cost edition with only support PCIx slot and not internal Power Supply.

SIMPLE DESIGN AGP3.3 ONLY FOR TESTING.

Note- As you can check in the pics the ADAPTER AGP3.3 works perfect with a V5-6000. I was worried since I was not sure if in full load the PCIx slot would be enough to feed the V5-6000 8xFSAA and yes, card was in looping mode for more than 30 minutes to 8xFSAA and not lock up, not heat. :)

White, they are AAVID brand heatsink. You can buy them on ebay USA.

I think you are talking about Michel (trevormacro) from France.


AGP3.3 DUAL ADAPTER:

Only with some traces changed the IC1 is about 15º less hot than AGP3.0

Once added an extra IC temperature is about 40º less hot than AGP3.0


All this temperatures are without heatsink onc IC1.

@White, did you receive the package with AGP3.0?
